What we’re thinking

Vision

Towards a society where shelter, skills, and community are inseparable
We live better when we build together, and we build better when we live in thriving communities. We envision a future where affordable housing, meaningful work, and strong social bonds form a virtuous cycle — empowering every young adult to create a life of stability, dignity, and purpose.

Purpose

Close the gap, open the future
Every young person deserves the chance to shape their own path. Our purpose is to equip 18–24-year-olds with the skills, tools, and support they need — combining AI innovation, hands-on training, and therapeutic spaces — to turn uncertainty into opportunity.

Mission 2027

Building companions for the journey
In the next five years, BarndosFoundation will build a nationwide network of “Skill & Shelter Companions” — mentors, makers, and partners — who stand alongside young adults at life’s critical intersections. Our goal:

  • 10,000 youth supported through housing and skill-building programs.

  • 100 partner organizations united in closing the triple threat of affordable housing, the skills gap, and social repair.
Together, we will create a movement where building a home, building a career, and building a community happen side-by-side.
